Jerrod Hull wins sprint feature at SFCR.
FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (July 20, 2002) Jerrod Hull of Sikeston and Timmy Montgomery of Fredericktown dueled each other for the top spot in the 25-lap sprint feature Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway and when the dust settled it was Hull standing in victory lane.
Hull started the feature on the outside of the fourth row while Montgomery started on the outside of row one, but Hull made the most of his opportunities and quickly made his way to the front to battle Montgomery where he eventually made the pass and picked up the victory.
Timmy Montgomery finished second with Joey Montgomery third, Bob Thoman fourth and Tommy Worley Jr. fifth. They were followed by Travis Mize, Timmy Moss, Ronnie Standridge, Larry Dudley and Greg Burns.
Tim Montgomery won the first heat race with Jason Keith second and Joey Montgomery third. Thoman won heat two with Ronnie Standridge second and Hull third. Brett Sammon won the third heat with Shawn King second and Casey Barnhouse third. Thoman won the trophy dash with Tim Montgomery second and Sammons third. Jay Landolt won the "B" main with Moss second and Danny Long third.
In the Hobby Stock class, Chuck Adams was the feature winner with second place going to Brad Mashek, third to Karl Francis, fourth to Doug Savage and fifth place to Nathan Gibson. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Billy Mayberry, Jeremy Greenwalt(driving the #81 of Chris Boyd), Randy Forster and Matt Eaton.
Mike Francis won the first heat with Gibson second and Mashek third. Adams won the second heat with Kenny Harris second and Chris Boyd third. Karl Francis won the third heat with Rocky Stevens second and Mark Howell third.
In the Modified class, Billy "the Kid" Smith of Park Hills picked up the checkered flag in the feature with Mike Crader second, Kenny Kennedy third (he started 17th in the feature), Tim Radford fourth and Dan Zanders fifth. They were followed by R.C. Hovis, Jim Beishir, Kasey Nations, Tommy Worley Sr. and Dean Resinger.
Jeff Lebaube won the first heat with Danny Resinger second and Jim Fisher third. Crader won the second heat with Smith second and Radford third. Keith Ruff won the third heat with Tim Hill second and Bob Waterhouse third.
In the Multi feature, Lance McKinney continued to prove to be the man to beat as he powered his #55 multi to another feature win. Eric Giessing finished in second place with Shawn Merritt third, Curt Henderson fourth and Brad Loyet fifth. They were followed by Tommy Boyd, Kent Buckley, Daniel Adler, Matt Dotson and Junior Ferguson.
Giessing won the first heat race with McKinney second and Loyet third. Merritt won the second heat with Adler second and Jimmy Bridgeman third. Tommy Boyd won the third heat race with Ferguson second and Buckley third.
This Wednesday night at St. Francois County Raceway the UMP Late Models will pay their only visit of the season to the track along with the UMP Modifieds. The 600cc Multis will also be a part of the special Wednesday night show. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7. For more information phone (573) 756-1734.
