Moughan wins sprint feature at SFCR.
FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Jimmy Moughan was able to hold off Tommy Worley Jr. long enough to win the 25-lap sprint car feature Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway. Terry Babb finished a strong third with Bob Thoman fourth and Timmy Montgomery fifth. They were followed by Joey Montgomery, Steve Short, Ronnie Standridge, Larry Dudley and Jeremy Standridge.
Worley Jr. was the winner of the first heat race with Moughan second and Thoman third. Robbie Neubauer picked up the checkered flag in the second heat with Short second and Jason Keith third. Tim Montgomery won the third heat with Kevin Briscoe second and Dudley third. Joey Montgomery won the fourth heat with Babb second and Rod Crabdree third. Keith Burch won the "B" main with Timmy Moss second and Jeremy Standridge third. Worley Jr. won the trophy dash with Babb second and Joey Montgomery third.
Chuck Adams was the feature winner in the Hobby Stock class with Chris Boyd taking second, Billy Mayberry third, Doug Savage fourth and Randy Forster fifth. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Kevin Mosier, Kenny Harris, Brad Mashek and Matt Eaton.
Boyd won the first heat with Mike Francis second and Mayberry third. Adams won the second heat with Forster second and Savage third. In the closest finish of the night, Kenny Kennedy nipped Danny Resinger at the wire to win the Modified class feature. Billy Smith finished in third place with Matt Zimmerly fourth and Kevin Gegg fifth. They were followed by Tim Radford, Jathon Cruse (in his first modified feature ever), Timmy Hill, Chris Boyd, and Mitch Parmeley.
Hill won the first heat with Tommy Worley Sr. second and Dan Zander third. Resinger won the second heat with Smith second and Bob Waterhouse third. Kennedy won the third heat with Boyd second and Brent Thompson third.
In the 600cc Multi feature, Lance McKinney continued to shine at SFCR as he picked up another feature win. Junior Ferguson captured second with Derek O'Dell third, Korey Weyant fourth and Tommy Boyd fifth. They were followed by Daniel Adler, Tyler Thompson, Matt Dotson, John "Wallbanger" Dennis and Jimmy Bridgeman.
Thompson won the first heat with Boyd second and Brian Keen third. McKinney won the second heat with Ferguson second and Tony Roney third. Joey Boyd won the third heat with Dotson second and Adler third. Weyant won the "B" main with Curt Henderson second and Paul Thompson third. There were 144 cars racing at SFCR Saturday night.
Racing action resumes at the St. Francois County Raceway this Saturday night with the second and final Families For Kids Night of the season.
