Short Track Nationals Provisional up for Grabs at I-30 Sprint Bandits Event
TULSA, Okla. (May 4, 2004) -- The wide-open excitement of 410-ci Sprint Car racing returns to Little Rock's I-30 Speedway next Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, as the O'Reilly Sprint Bandits invade Tracey Clay's high-banked quarter-mile oval.
Increasing the stakes, Saturday night's winner will also be awarded a provisional starting position in the 17th Annual Short Track Nationals.
Along with Saturday night's $6,000 winner's share, the STN provisional is worth a minimum of $1,700. I-30 Speedway's 17th Annual Short Track Nationals, slated to take place October 28-30, features $15,000-to-win and $1,700-to-start in the prestigious 360-ci Sprint Car event.
Also, an extra $500 is available if the driver that tops Wednesday night's O'Reilly Sprint Bandits event at Auto Tire & Parts Race Park in Benton, MO, can repeat the feat on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway.
An additional $200 is up for grabs for the top-finishing 360-ci entry in Friday's feature, with $300 for the top 360 on Saturday.
A talent-laden field of drivers is expected for the I-30 Speedway O'Reilly Sprint Bandits double next Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, including current series point leader Sammy Swindell, along with Gary Wright, Shane Stewart, Travis Rilat, Zach Chappell, Danny Jennings, Jerrod Hull, Aaron Berryhill, Steven King, Nick Smith, Jason Martin, Darren Stewart, Jan Howard, Jerrod Wilson and Sean Walden among others.
I-30 Speedway is located seven miles southwest of Little Rock off I-30 Exit 126 (County Line Road). Tickets for Friday night, May 14, are just $10 for adults, with children 6-12 just $1 when accompanied by an adult. Tickets for the Saturday night, May 15 finale, are just $20, with children 6-12 just $4 when accompanied by an adult. Pit gates open at 5:00 p.m. with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
