TULSA, Okla. (February 17, 2004) -- Pro Shocks, based in Lawrenceville, GA, has signed on as a contingency sponsor for both the Sprint Bandits and the American Sprint Car Series for the upcoming 2004 season.
Pro Shocks will award a $100 product certificate to the top finisher utilizing Pro Shocks in each Sprint Bandits feature event and a $50 product certificate to the top finisher using Pro Shocks in each O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers feature event in 2004.
"It's an honor to be affiliated with the Sprint Bandits and the American Sprint Car Series," commented George Gillespie of Pro Shocks. "We believe this is an excellent way to get involved and to give some back to the dedicated car owners who support each of these series."
In its 21st year of business, Pro Shocks has been the world's leader in shock technology and innovation since 1983. The number one shock manufacturer worldwide for a number of years, Pro Shocks' technology has allowed it to expand into new markets such as street rods, kit cars, pro street cars and lowered trucks.
Set to kick off its much-anticipated first season in little more than 30 days, the Sprint Bandits series has been created in an effort to revitalize 410-ci Sprint Car racing, in part by utilizing cost-cutting rules including the use of a series head, spec right rear tire and eliminating the wicker bill on wings. These rules will also combine to unhook the cars, thereby making the driver a greater part of the equation, resulting in more competitive Sprint Car racing. The Sprint Bandits will present a schedule of approximately 25 races in 2004.
The O'Reilly ASCS National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers is the nation's premier 360-ci touring series. This year's ASCS National Tour will consist of approximately 40 nights of racing throughout Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
