ASCS Southern Tour Ready for Big Week
TULSA, Okla. (May 22, 2006) -- The cars and stars of the Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour are gearing up for a big week of racing, as they prepare to take on the big guns of the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series as well as the World of Outlaws.
It all starts with a Tuesday night practice session at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway on Tuesday, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m., in preparation for Wednesday night's card with the World of Outlaws.
The ASCS Southern Tour will have a "race-within-a-race" on Wednesday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway, with the top finishing 360-ci powered entry receiving first-place ASCS Southern Tour money in addition to his Outlaw finishing position money. Wednesday's action gets under way at 7:30 p.m.
Then, it's on to Virginia for a pair of events on Friday and Saturday night with the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour.
Friday night the ASCS Southern Tour joins forces with the National stars at Wythe Raceway in Wytheville, VA, before moving on to Saluda's Virginia Motor Speedway. Both nights will feature a full card of heat races, qualifying races, "B" Mains and "A" Feature.
Friday's action gets under way at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday's card firing off at 7:00 p.m.

The Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour 2006 slate consists of 16 nights of racing at thirteen different tracks throughout the southeastern portion of the United States.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
