ASCS Southern Tour Gears Up for Lancaster Motor Speedway
TULSA, Okla. (June 6, 2006) -- Action continues for the Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour as the competitive series makes its debut at Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, SC, this Saturday night.
Pfafftown, North Carolina's Butch Pendergrass leads the way into Friday night's event atop the high-banked, 0x00bd-mile Lancaster dirt oval, holding a 24-point lead over 2005 series runner-up Coby Adams in the series championship points chase.
Both Pendergrass and Mooresville, NC, racer Adams will be shooting for a first ASCS Southern Tour feature win this Saturday night, as will third-ranked Lance Moss of Cherryville, NC, who has posted a pair of runner-up feature finishes this season.
Moss' cousin, Johnny Bridges, enters Saturday's event ranked fourth after scoring his second series win of the season this past weekend, with Jeff Young rounding out the current top five.
The balance of the current top ten includes Brian Smith, Scott McClaren,immy Burns, Doug Gold and Kris Brooks.
Saturday's action at Lancaster Motor Speedway is set to get under way at 7:30 p.m.

The Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour 2006 slate consists of 16 nights of racing at thirteen different tracks throughout the southeastern portion of the United States.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
