ASCS Southern Tour Adds Pair of September Dates
TULSA, Okla. (July 18, 2006) -- The Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour has added a pair of September events to the 2006 schedule.
The series has added a September 9 event at Atomic Motor Speedway in Oak Ridge, TN, as well as a September 16 event at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC.
The September 9 Atomic outing will mark the first of two stops atop the lightning-fast, high-banked 1/3-mile clay oval. The September 16 card will mark the series debut atop the high-banked, 3/8-mile Tri-County clay oval.
With the added events, the Heintz Performanc ASCS Southern Tour has eight events remaining on the slate. With nine events already in the books, Mooresville, NC, racer Coby Adams holds a 21-point lead over Cherryville, NC, contender Johnny Bridges. Lance Moss, also from Cherryville, is just one more point back in third.
The Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour 2006 slate consists of 17 nights of racing at thirteen different tracks throughout the southeastern portion of the United States.
In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
