ASCS SOUTHERN TOUR ADDS ANOTHER PAIR OF ASPHALT EVENTS

TULSA, Okla. (June 13, 2007) -- Following a pair of wildly successful debut events on asphalt over the past two weekends, the American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour has booked a pair of return engagements in the Carolinas for September.

The series will make an encore performance at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC, on Friday night, September 21, before returning to Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC, the following night, September 22.

Prior to this month, the American Sprint Car Series had never competed on an asphalt racing surface. But the ASCS Southern Tour brought the excitement of winged Sprint Cars to the 4/10-mile Ace Speedway on Friday night, June 1.

And the result was overwhelming, with the series racing before a standing room only crowd and electrifying the throng with speeds they'd never before witnessed.

After rain interrupted the series a night later, the ASCS Southern Tour made the trek to Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 9, and it was more of the same jaw-dropping thrills in front of another packed house.

The results left both tracks clamoring for a second event, which the ASCS Southern Tour will be able to serve up in September.

Until the that time, the ASCS Southern Tour will stay busy on a variety of dirt tracks throughout the area, beginning with next weekend's Georgia double versus the ASCS Rebel Region at Oglethorpe Speedway Park on Friday night (June 22) and Swainsboro Raceway (June 23).

The ASCS Southern Tour is slated for 18 nights of action in 2007 at a dozen different tracks throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.

The 2007 season marks the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series. With a dozen different Regions in addition to the O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series, ASCS will sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout at least 30 different states and Canada.
