ASCS Southern Tour Adds One & Reschedules One

TULSA, Okla. (May 23, 2006) -- A pair of changes have been made to the Heintz Performance American Sprint Car Series Southern Tour schedule with the addition of one event and the rescheduling of another.

The event originally scheduled for Georgia's Lavonia Speedway this past Saturday night that was washed out by rain has been rescheduled for Saturday night, June 24. The rescheduled Lavonia event will make for a full two-day weekend after invading Oak Level Raceway in Martinsville, VA, the night before.

Also, the series has added a July 15 date at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC. The addition of Fayetteville Motor Speedway extends the number of tracks the ASCS Southern Tour will visit in 2006 to thirteen.

Currently, the Heintz Performance ASCS Southern Tour slate consists of 16 nights of racing at thirteen different tracks throughout the southeastern portion of the United States in 2006.

In its 15th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing in the United States, the American Sprint Car Series will present approximately 180 nights of racing at nearly 100 tracks throughout 27 different states and Canada in 2006 including the National Tour and its Regional Tours (Gulf South, Mid-South, Midwest, Northern Plains, Patriot Sprint Group, Rocky Mountain, Sooner, Southern and Sprints on Dirt).
