Jason Johnson & Michael Dupuy are 1-2 for Southern Iowa Sprintweek title.

Knoxville, Iowa (August 6, 2002) - Jason Johnson of Greenville, Texas, and Michael Dupuy of Amite, Louisiana, are ranked first and second in the battle for the inaugural "Mr. Sprint Car" title after the first four events of the 9-event Southern Iowa SprintWeek. Johnson finished sixth last night at Oskaloosa in the WoO Gumout Series-sanctioned Front Row Challenge, after finishing second (Sat. 410) and fourth (Sun. 360 ToC) over the weekend at Knoxville. Dupuy was a DNQ (Did Not Qualify) last night after finishing second (Sat. 360) and fifth (Sun. 360 ToC) on the previous two nights. Johnson has 141 points, while Dupuy has earned 105 points.

Southern Iowa SprintWeek continues this evening with the $30,000-to-win Sprint Car Racing Association (SCRA)-sanctioned non-winged 410 c.i. Ultimate Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. Tonight's event kick's off the Non-Winged World Championship (NWWC) tour which is headed east this week. The Southern Iowa SprintWeek champion will claim the "Mr. Sprint Car" title and pocket $1,500 in bonus money.
