TULSA, Okla. (May 25, 2005) -- With six events already in the books, a pair of adjustments have been made to the 2005 American Bank of Oklahoma American Sprint Car Series Sooner Region schedule.
The event originally scheduled for June 18 at Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville, AR, has been rescheduled for Saturday night, July 9. The event was moved from the original date when the Dodge City Raceway Park event, which will feature the National Tour along with the Sooner Region, Rocky Mountain Region and the NCRA, was slated for June 17-18.
Also, the event originally scheduled for September 10 at Tulsa Speedway has been moved up two weeks and will now be contested on August 27.
The 2005 American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region schedule consists of 19 events at eight different tracks throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Arkansas.
Through the opening six events of 2005, Sean McClelland of Collinsville, OK, holds the early lead in ASCS Sooner Region points on the strength of the three feature wins, with 2002 series champion Danny Jennings 34 points back in second. Cody Branchcomb is third, with Kerry McAlister and J.P. Bailey rounding out the current top five.
Next up for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region is Saturday night's combined National Tour event at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, TX.
