TULSA, Okla. (January 12, 2005) -- The American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region 2005 slate has been announced, with seven different tracks set to host the series this year.

The hotly-contested ASCS Sooner Region, which not only included co-champions in 2004, but also featured ties for third and fifth place in points as well, kicks off the 2005 season at Tulsa Speedway April 2. The season will wrap up at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, TX, on September 24.

In addition to the season opener, Tulsa Speedway will also host the series on July 30 in an event held in conjunction with the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour.

Cowtown Speedway will host a pair of events prior to the season finale, including an April 9 stop and a May 28 challenge versus the National Tour aces atop the fast quarter-mile oval.

Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway will host four Sooner Region events, with Ada's Oklahoma Sports Park hosting the series on April 23 and September 3. Lawton Speedway will host its annual set of events, including stops on April 30, July 2 and September 17.

The series ventures into Arkansas for its first-ever stop at Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville on June 18. And with bragging rights on the line, the series also ventures out of the Sooner State for the Third Annual Sooner vs. Gulf South Shootout at Devil's Bowl Speedway on July 16.
