Short Track Nationals Opener Postponed by Rain

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 26, 2006) -- The kickoff of the 19th Annual Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires at I-30 Speedway has been delayed by 24 hours, as steady precipitation throughout the day on both Wednesday and Thursday has postponed Thursday night's preliminary event.

Race fans and approximately 100 teams from throughout the country will still be treated to three full cards of racing action atop the high-banked, 0x00bc-mile clay oval, beginning with Friday night's preliminary card, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and the green flag flying at 7:30 p.m.

Then on Saturday, it's a day-night double header of Sprint Car racing action, with the second preliminary firing off at noon. Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Upon the completion of the second preliminary card, the track will be reworked in preparation for Saturday night's 19th Annual Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires finale, with the championship feature worth $15,000 to win and $1,900 to start. Saturday's STN finale will get under way at approximately 7:30 p.m.

I-30 Speedway is located seven miles southwest of Little Rock off I-30 Exit 126. For more information, contact the track at 501-455-4567.
