From mIn Motorsports Management, OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 4, 2004) -- In keeping with his true "Outlaw" style, Bixby, Oklahoma's Shane Stewart will clip his wings for this upcoming weekend's Big M Motorfest at Memphis Motorsports Park.
Shane will make his first wingless sprint car start aboard Scott Chilcutt's Wesmar-powered Ol' Glory Energy Drink No. 4m Maxim in Friday night's O'Reilly Sprint Bandits versus USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series challenge event atop MMP's quarter-mile gumbo oval.
Currently ranked second in Sprint Bandits points, Shane will vie for the $5,000 bonus offered to the Sprint Bandits ace that can top USAC's wingless chauffeurs. Shane sits second in Sprint Bandits points after driving the Hoosier-shod Penske Shocks/mIn Motorsports Management/Brodix machine from 15th to fifth in the Sprint Bandits opener at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, on March 19, then advancing from eighth to second the next night in the Sander Engineering/Banshee Graphics/B&B Oval Products mount.
Shane will then make his USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series debut in the RE Technologies-owned Ol' Glory/Sander Engineering machine on Saturday afternoon at MMP's 0x00be-mile paved oval. Shane will be one of several drivers eyeing the $50,000 bonus offered to the driver that can top both Friday night's wingless Sprint Car challenge and Saturday's Memphis USAC 100.
Consistently posting top finishes this season, Shane looks to add a wingless triumph to his 2004 ledger that already includes victories in King of the 360's Sprint Car action at East Bay Raceway Park in Florida as well as his first career World of Outlaws feature victory at Thunder Valley Speedway in Union Hill, LA.
