SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Nate Snyder of Halifax drove to his fourth win of the season at Selinsgrove Speedway in the Fourth Annual Firecracker 40 for sprint cars Saturday night.

For Snyder, at the wheel of the Highlands' Tire Service No. 3, the $2,000 victory marked the eighth of his career at the Snyder County oval.

Troy Miller of Tower City won his first career late model race in the division's 25-lap main event, while Meade Hahn of Millerstown scored his second career 15-lap pro stock feature. The abbreviated roadrunner race was won by Cory Long of Selinsgrove.

Selinsgrove Speedway will present two nights of racing this coming weekend beginning Saturday, July 2 with the Seventh Annual Late Model Open plus sprints, pro stocks and roadrunners at 7 p.m. The track will present the PA Speedweek finale for 410 sprint cars on Sunday, July 3 at 7 p.m. The pro stocks will also be on Sunday's program.

Polesitter Bob Beidleman took the lead at the start of the 40-lap sprint car main event. Beidleman was closely chased by second-place starter Nate Snyder and fourth-place starter Davie Franek.

The event's first incident occurred on lap nine when Kyle Bachman and Bryan Golden collided in turn four. When the race resumed, Beidleman continued to lead the field with Snyder racing in his shadow.

At the midway point of the event, six cars were racing in a lead pack in heavy lapped traffic, creating a suspenseful war on wheels. The lead pack include Beidleman, Snyder, Franek, fifth-place starter TJ Stutts, seventh-place starter Adrian Shaffer and 24th-place starter Blane Heimbach.

On the 24th lap, Snyder stormed underneath Beidleman in turns three and four for the lead. At the same time, Beidelman's racer developed mechanical problems and rolled to a stop. For the lap 25 restart, Snyder led Heimbach, Franek, Stutts and Shaffer.

The final caution flag unfurled on lap 37 for debri, setting up a three-lap chase to the checkered flag between Snyder and Heimbach. Snyder drove away on the restart and posted a comfortable margin of victory over Heimbach, Franek, Stutts and Shaffer.

The first lap of the late model feature produced a multi-car pileup on the fronstretch, sidelining Al Shawver, Jr. and Jeff Smith. On the restart, polesitter Bob Croop powered into the lead. Croop was chased by second-place starter Chris Wilkinson for the first seven laps before fourth-place starter Troy Miller moved into second.

Miller made the winning pass by Croop using the inside line on the frontstretch on lap 15. At the same time, ninth-place starter Tony Adams advanced to second. With Miller at the wheel of an Adams team car, the final laps saw a pair of 88's duel at the front of the pack. Miller was victorious over Adams, point leader Donnie Schick, Ken Trevitz and Wilkinson.

Polesitter Steve Woodward drove into the lead at the start of the pro stock feature. Woodward was passed by sixth-place starter Meade Hahn on the backstretch for the lead. Hahn held off the late race challenges of Matt Johnson and AJ Stroup for his first win of the season. Troy Miller and Jason Philips completed the top five.

Second-place starter Wendy Swartz led the first lap of the roadrunner feature before sixth-place starter Cory Long drove into the lead. Following several caution flag periods, the race was ended with four laps completed and Long declared the winner over Matt Keister, Keith Bissinger, Dave Kamp and Jim Naiman.
