SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Bob Beidleman kept the streak alive at Selinsgrove Speedway. The Walnutport driver became the seventh different winner in as many races at the track in the 25-lap sprint car feature Saturday night.

For Beidleman, at the wheel of the Schall's Brakes & Repairs No. 81, the wire-to-wire win also marked the seventh of his career at the track.

Beidleman started the sprint car feature in the second position and took the lead at the start of the race. Beidleman was chased by polesitter Dave Emory for the first three circuits before ninth-place starter Blane Heimbach powered into the runner up position.

On lap eight, current point leader and one time feature winner Davie Franek withdrew from the race with mechanical problems.

For most of the event, Beidleman maintained a convincing lead over Heimbach and 10th-place starter Kevin Nouse. With five laps remaining, 11th-place starter Jason Shultz drove by Nouse for the third position.

The final laps saw Heimbach move within striking distance of Beidleman. Heimbach attempted to pull alongside of Beidleman on the last lap for the lead and win but to no avail. Beidleman was victorious by just .78 of a second over Heimbach.

Shultz, Nouse, and Emory completed the top five. Sprint car heats were won by Emory, Beidleman and Larry Kelleher.

Jeff Rine of Danville won his third event of the season in the 25-lap late model race. Rine strengthened his point lead this season with his 20th career win at the speedway.

Second-place starter Bobby Stokes led the first eight laps of the late model main event. Rine started the event in the 10th position and moved into second on lap seven. On a lap nine restart, Rine passed Stokes entering turn one to secure the lead.

On the 14th circuit, eighth-place starter Tony Adams drove by Stokes for second but could not catch Rine to offer a serious challenge. At the finish, Rine was victorious over Adams, Stokes, Brian Cochran and Donnie Schick

Gerald Kratzer of Selinsgrove was awarded the win in the 15-lap pro stock feature when Nate Kerstetter's car was found to be light according to track weight rules. Second-place starter Dave Brouse, Jr. led most of the event with fourth-place starter Kerstetter in close pursuit.

On lap 10, during an intense battle for the lead, Brouse lost control of his race car in turn two and spun out. At this point, Kerstetter inherited the lead and held off the challenges of sixth-place starter Kratzer. When Kerstetter was disqualified under the minimum weight rule, Kratzer was named the winner, followed by Troy Miller, Jason Phillips, Meade Hahn and Matt Johnson.

Fourth-place starter Jim Somers led the first four laps of the roadrunner feature while being trailed by seventh-place starter Keith Bissinger. On lap five, Bissinger took command of the field and was followed across the finish line by Somers, Brad Mitch, Tom Brunson, and Matt Keister.

Selinsgrove Speedway will present the third annual Ink Spot Printing Pro Stock 20 plus a complete program of sprint cars, late models and roadrunners on Saturday, May 15 at 7 p.m. The special pro stock championship event will pay $1,000 to win.
