TULSA, Okla. (September 11, 2003) - A number of the nation's top drivers are gearing up for the inaugural running of the Sedalia 360 Shootout, including those from the O'Reilly American Sprint Car Series National Tour presented by Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and United Trailers along with the Winged Outlaw Warriors.

The inaugural Sedalia 360 Shootout, an Action Sports Promotions event slated to take place September 25-27, features a $60,000 purse, including $10,000 to the winner and $1,000 to start Saturday's main event atop Sedalia's historic half-mile State Fair Speedway dirt oval.

The top guns of the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour will be on hand for the points-paying event, including Travis Rilat of Forney, TX, who currently leads the series championship points chase.

Rilat, with five ASCS National wins this season, holds a slim lead in the points battle over Gary Wright, who has notched a series best 14 feature wins this season to up his career ASCS win total to 75. Also, still in the championship hunt are 2001 ASCS National champion Zach Chappell and Darren Stewart, the series' leading Brodix Rookie of the Year contender.

The Winged Outlaw Warriors will be represented by their top shoes as well, including current series point leader Eric Schrock. Also expected are Bobby Hawks, who has a series best six feature wins this season, two-times series champion Mike Trent, and Randy Martin, the winningest driver in WOW history.

Shane Stewart, currently ranked seventh in O'Reilly ASCS National points despite running a limited schedule, will take aim at the $10,000 winner's share as well. Stewart has scored five ASCS National wins, and along with being crowned champion of the competitive ASCS Speedweek in June, earned Southern Iowa Speedweek Mr. Sprint Car honors in August.

A number of other top drivers will take on the stars of ASCS and WOW, including Billy Alley of Lincoln, NE, who recently secured the Knoxville Raceway 360 Sprint Car championship. Alley, last year's National 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, has notched eleven feature victories this year.

Also on hand will be 22-year-old Erin Crocker of Wilbraham, MA, who recently became the first woman to ever qualify for the A Feature at the Knoxville Nationals. Crocker qualified for the prestigious Knoxville Nationals Saturday night finale in just her second outing in 410-ci competition.

Hailing from nearby Warsaw, MO, Jesse Hockett, who ranks as one of the nation's winningest drivers in 2003 with 13 feature triumphs, will be on hand as well. Hockett recently burst into the national headlines by topping the SCRA's Non-Wing World Championship $10,000-to-win main event at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS.

The field for the three-day Sedalia 360 Shootout will be split in half for Thursday and Friday night's qualifying action, with the top two finishers from each night's feature locked into Saturday night's finale. Passing points will be used in heats. ASCS rules apply, with mufflers mandatory (Schoenfeld 112535-no gutting) and the weight rule of 1,300 lbs. without driver will be in effect.

Entry fee for the event is $100 if received by September 22. Entries received after that date will be $150. Entries should be sent to Action Sports Promotions, 1101 Main St., Garland, TX, 75140. For additional information, call 972-487-6960 or check www.actiontshirts.com.

Admission for Thursday and Friday night's racing will be $10, with Saturday's admission only $20. Children ages 6-12 are only $5 for each night, with children five and under free.
