PERRIS & MANZY ADDED, VENTURA MOVED, EL CENTRO CANCELED

by Robert Mayson Sprint Car Racing Association President Ron Shuman announced today what he hopes are the final changes to the 1998 SCRA schedule. An agreement was made earlier today to add an October 24th race at the Perris Auto Speedway. Amicably, the SCRA has rescheduled the recently published October 31st event at Ventura Raceway (Ventura, CA) for November 14th. The move will allow race teams and fans to attend the Halloween night World of Outlaw race at the PAS. The two week Ventura postponement also pushes back the 8th Annual Wagsdash. Adding to Shuman's late season scheduling dilemmas was announcement earlier this week by Imperial Raceway officials that the November 7th race at El Centro (CA) needed to be canceled. Fortunately, Shuman and promoter Keith Hall were able to quickly put a deal together to give Manzanita Speedway (Phoenix, AZ) the November 7th date. Yuma Raceway Park (Yuma, AZ) is already slated for it's second ever SCRA visit on November 6th.
