(FEBRUARY 2, 2002, PERRIS, CA) It may not show on the calendar, but winter officially ends for Southern California oval track fans when Barratt Homes presents the 8th Annual Perris Auto Speedway Season Opener this Saturday, February 8th.
The popular VRA Sprint Cars headline this week's show. Also on the opening card will be the Temecula Valley Mitsubishi Super Stocks, Ramona Tire Street Stocks, the crazy Pick-A-Part Cruisers, California Champ Trucks and the Hornets. With such a large variety of divisions, fans can expect to see over 150 racecars in competition on Saturday.
Please make a note of Saturday's earlier starting times. Spectator gates will open at 2:00 PM and the first race of 2003 will take the green flag at 4:00.
The 2003 PAS schedule is a bonanza for open wheel racing fans. The PAS has scheduled 44 race dates. Open wheel cars will be on the bill at 34 of them!
Temecula Valley Pipe and Supply and Vista Paint will present the season opener for the Napa Auto Parts/Auto Trader Magazines SCRA Sprint Cars at the PAS on February 15th. On the final Saturday in February, The Pennzoil World of Outlaws will be at The PAS in their only Southern California appearance of 2003.
Don't forget that at intermission the entire family can dance in The PAS Dance Contest with prizes for the winning dancers ages 12 and under.

Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the freeway close Lake Perris Fairgrounds, home of the Farmer's Fair, approximately one hour east of Los Angeles. Take the 215 Freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway and go east two miles to the fairgrounds.
