Sodus, New York - Bob Scaccio, of Suffern, NY, was the sixth different feature winner in as many races this year on the Woodard's Concrete Products/Central New York Mini Sprint (CNYMS) tour. He took the "Mid Summer Mini Sprint Sizzler" at Fulton (NY) Speedway on July 29.

For once, despite threatening skies, the rain held off and did not dampen the "Sizzler," which was postponed once already because of the weather. The special mini sprint race, sponsored by Papa Joe's Restaurant, of Sodus Point, NY, was organized by Branich Motorsports and sanctioned by CNYMS.

Scaccio wheeled forward from his second row starting position to battle Brian Burns (West Shokan, NY), Jeff Howell (Rochester, NY), and A. J. Bagozzi (Camillus, NY) for the top positions. The battle saw Burns, Bagozzi, and Scaccio all having a chance to lead the race. After Burns left the race with motor problems, Bagozzi and Scaccio delighted the crowd with wheel to wheel racing. Scaccio prevailed at the checkered flag. Bagozzi was second, and Howell was third. Tour points leader Mike Emhof (Sodus, NY) started last in the feature, but was able to pick his way through traffic to finish fourth. P.J. Peworchik (Binghamton, NY) rounded out the top five. 14 year old rookie Cory Sparks (Scotia, NY) won his first CNYMS heat race ever, and Peworchik won the other qualifying race. In addition to earning $650 for the win, Scaccio took home a gift certificate from Seymour Enterprises (Marlboro, Massachusetts) and a product award from Farrell Oil (Milford, NY). Bicknell Racing Products (Niagara Falls, NY) will provide a gift certificate to David Huss (Penfield, NY), winner of the Hard Luck award. The feature pole sitter was having one of his strongest runs when his car succumbed to mechanical problems. Weld Wheels (Kansas City, MO) will provide a gift certificate to Ed Warren, the race Hard Charger. The CNYMS tour was to visit Penn Can Speedway July 30 for a make up of a special Independence Day weekend show, but rain forced yet another postponement. Track and tour promoters will be working out the details of another make-up date.
