ASCS Rocky Mountain Region ready to rumble through Western Kansas

TULSA, Okla. (July 28, 2003) - With seven series triumphs to his credit this season, Randi Miller leads the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region into Western Kansas this weekend. Thomas County Speedway in Colby, KS, hosts the series Friday night, before moving on to the Jetmore Motorplex on Saturday night.

Hailing from Rapid City, SD, Miller enters the weekend fresh off a sweep of the ASCS Montana Nationals at Electric City Speedway in Great Falls, MT. With the sweep, Miller has amassed a 128 point lead over defending ASCS Rocky Mountain Region champion Mike Dreiling of Highlands Ranch, CO. Dreiling is just 17 points ahead of third-ranked Eric Miller of Thornton, CO, with Jake Pierson (Bellvue, CO) and Mason Hill (Billings, MT) completing the current top five.

The ASCS Rocky Mountain Region regulars will have to contend with several top Kansas shoes, including Tony Bruce, Jr., Steven King and C.J. Johnson among others.

Randi Miller posted a pair of victories at the Jetmore Motorplex in ASCS action last year, while C.J. Johnson topped last year's stop at Thomas County Speedway.

Friday night's racing action at Thomas County Speedway is set to get under way at 7:00 p.m. Thomas County Speedway is located in Colby, KS, off I-70 Exit 53, then 1.7 miles north on SR 25, then west to the fairgrounds. For more information, contact the track at 785-443-6174.
