Randi Miller Best in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Olathe Prelim

OLATHE, Col. (May 28, 2005) -- Randi Miller kicked off the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region two-night stand at Thunder Mountain Speedway by wiring the field in Saturday night's 25-lap feature.

Miller earned the pole position for the feature by virtue of his heat race victory then gunned into the lead at the drop of the green flag. Patrick Bourke kept the pressure on throughout, but Miller was not to be denied as he took the checkered flag in Mac White's Carbone-powered Two Dot Tech No. 2d Maxim to capture career feature victory number 187.

Bourke settled for a close second place finish, with Eric Miller taking the position. Nick Haygood crossed the stripe fourth, with Joe Wagner rounding out the top five.

Gary Taylor claimed sixth, with Keith Rauch, John Stroud, Jr., Brett Ream and Jeff Heffner completing the top ten.

Taylor and Haygood escaped the night tied for the series point lead, just four points ahead of twelfth-place finisher Jake Pierson.

Taylor, Randi Miller and Eric Miller were victorious in heat race action.

The Thunder Mountain Speedway double wraps up Sunday night, with action slated to get under way at 7:00 p.m.
