Taylor Takes top ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Honors

TULSA, Okla. (November 15, 2005) -- Gary Taylor received American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region championship honors this past Saturday night as the series held its post season awards banquet at Jack & Grill in Arvada, CO.

Taylor, a Washington-state native now residing in Wheat Ridge, CO, was the top honoree during the evening's festivities, as the top ten in ASCS Rocky Mountain Region points all received awards.

Others among the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region top ten that were honored Saturday night included series runner-up Eric Miller (Thornton, CO), third-place finisher Jake Pierson (Bellvue, CO), Jeff Heffner (Denver, CO), John Jacob (Aurora, CO), Josh Fellows (Loveland, CO), Scott Milan (Ft. Collins, CO), Bob Schaeffer (New Castle, CO), Joe Wagner (Denver, CO) and Cyrus Perme (Littleton, CO).

Fellows, who just turned 16 years of age in August, also received ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Rookie of the Year honors.

David Miller, owner of Eric Miller's mount, earned the series 2005 Sportsmanship Award.

A total of 125 different drivers competed in at least one ASCS Rocky Mountain Region event in 2005, with ten drivers earning trips to victory lane.

The 2005 American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region season consisted of 19 events at ten different tracks throughout Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming.
