Miller Receives ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Championship Honors
TULSA, Okla. (November 25, 2003) - Rapid City, SD, hotshoe Randi Miller was honored at Brooklyn's in Arvada, CO, on Saturday night as the American Sprint Car Series Rocky Mountain Region 2003 champion.
After finishing a close second in points in 2002, Miller left little doubt about the championship this season as he raced to victory lane twelve times in 24 events aboard Mac White's Carbone-powered Two Dot Tech Maxim.
Eric Miller of Thornton, CO, claimed runner-up honors, while Mike Dreiling of Highlands Ranch, CO, received third-place laurels. Others receiving top ten honors included Jake Pierson, Scott Milan, Geoff Dodge, Mason Hill, Jace Pennetta, Mark Sweet and Brian Jamison.
>From Ft. Collins, CO, Pierson collected Rookie of the Year honors in addition to a strong fourth place finish in points. Milan and Hill shared Most Improved Driver honors.
Randi Miller, Eric Miller and Dreiling each picked up Perfect Attendance awards. Dreiling was given the Hard Luck award, while his crew earned Best Appearing Crew honors.
ASCS President Emmett Hahn was on hand for the festivities and presented ASCS Rocky Mountain Region coordinator Jim Starr and his wife Sue with a special award for their hard work and dedication to the series.
It was also announced that the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region will stage its first ever Speedweek in 2004. It will kick off at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Olathe, CO, on May 29-30, before moving on to Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, CO, on June 2. The ASCS Rocky Mountain Region Speedweek will wrap up at Aztec (NM) Speedway on June 4-5.
