Kenny Adams Leads ASCS Rebel Region to Green Valley
TULSA, Okla. (March 31, 2008) -- After getting a head start on the 2008 season with a February opener, the American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region fires back into action this Saturday night with its first stop of the season at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL.
And leading the way into the event atop the semi-banked, 3/8-mile clay oval is Malabar, FL, hotshoe Kenny Adams, winner of well over 200 Sprint Car features over the course of his career.
Following an East Bay preliminary win and then a top-five finish in the "King of the 360's" finale for the ASCS National Tour, Adams added his second win of the year when the ASCS Rebel Region kicked off the season on February 9 versus the Coastal Region at Loxley, AL.
Out to the series early points lead, Adams tries to add another win atop the track that a pair of Memphis-area racers found to their liking in 2007, as Wade Oliver and Brad Bowden each posted ASCS Rebel Region wins at Green Valley Speedway last year.
Adams will be joined by a stout field of contenders expected to include defending series champion T.J. Winegardner, Bryn Gohn, Tyler Godwin and 18-year-old Washington-state native Samantha Taylor among others.
Saturday's action at Green Valley Speedway fires off at 8:00 p.m.
Green Valley Speedway is located near Gadsen, AL, in Glencoe, 4.5 miles southeast of US 278 on US 431, then four miles southwest of Green Valley Road. For more information, contact the track at 256-504-6086.
