Budds Creek, Md., -- The drivers, track officials, and fans at Potomac Speedway were all set for another night of exciting racing action this past Friday night, but Mother Nature had other plans. Just as the Gardiner Outdoor Products Enduro Stocks were getting set to start their first heat race, the last set of heat races before the feature events, rain, wind, and lightning, made its appearance at the track, ending the evening's activities for the third time this year. Rainchecks will be honored for the next two racing events scheduled at the speedway. On the schedule, was the regular show, along with a 30-lap enduro stock feature, the Chesapeake Web Design Bombers and big wheel races for the kids. The 30 lap enduro feature and big wheel races have been rescheduled for June 23, along with the ITSI New Millennium Super Late Models already scheduled for that night and a regular show for other divisions. Coming up this Friday, there will be the 25-lap Coors Light Pure-Street Stock Mike Wathen Memorial. Along with this event, there will be a 40-lap $2,000-to-win Budweiser Late Model feature, sponsored by Superior Tank. The late model feature, one of the I.T.S.I. late model series features, is a make-up from the rainout on April 21st. Pit gates and grandstand gates open at 6:00 p.m., with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. The following weekend, June 16th, there will be no racing action on the track as the National Motorcross comes to town. June 30th the URC Sprints will be in town. Along with the sprints, there will be the regular show, except the Bell Motor Company Semi-Lates will have the night off.
