Cold weather cancels action at Port Royal Speedway.

Final daylight show of Spring to be April 13.

Port Royal Speedway officials canceled racing action Saturday afternoon April 6 due to cold weather and wind. Scheduled to compete were the Aumiller's Insurance Sprint Cars, Late Models and Stong's Auto Parts Pro Stocks. The same program will be run this Saturday afternoon April 13 starting at 1 p.m. Gates will open at 10:00 a.m. The April 13 program will be the final daylight show of the spring before action moves under the lights Saturday April 20. The seasons first night race will include the same three racing classes. It also serves as the Sprint Cars final tune up before Ted Johnson's World of Outlaws support class visits the Juniata County oval on April 27. The Enduro cars join the Sprint Cars for this program.

Last week Keith Kauffman of Mifflintown, PA and Jason Schmidt of Lewistown scored opening day wins in the Sprint Car and Pro Stock classes. Late Model fans were looking forward to yesterdays scheduled opener as several Hagerstown Speedway Late Models had planned to race at Port Royal during the day before returning to the Hub City oval for night racing. Speedway officials look forward to their return for next weeks daylight racing program.
