Port Royal, PA Mark Smith of Newville, PA won the 25 lap Aumiller's Insurance Sprint Car feature event Saturday night May 25 at Port Royal Speedway. It was Smith's first win ever at the Juniata County oval. The victory was worth $ 2,500 dollars to the Pete's Bridge Street Motors Race team.
Kevin Schaeffer started outside the front row and led the first nine laps before giving way to Mifflintown's Keith Kauffman. Kauffman looped his car exiting turn four giving the lead over to Smith on lap 16. Smith was not challenged and went on to record the win. Todd Hestor who started ninth, came on to finish second. Herndon's Mike Erdley was third with Kauffman racing from the rear to finish fourth. Schaeffer completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Alan Cole, TIm Kuhn, Cliff Brian, Mike Walters and Rick Lafferty.Heats for the 23 car field were won by Todd Shaffer and Kauffman.
The happy winner said "We worked hard for this. We changed this deal around a bit. The track was smooth and fast, not like before.(two weeks ago). This is special. We hope to make it back here a little quicker next time."

Shane Garman started second and led the first three laps before Jere Wierman took over. Wierman stayed out front until lap 12 when Dickson went out front for good. Once in front Dickson was not challenged. Travis Dillman came home third with Steve Campbell fourth. Billy Wampler completed the top five. Sixth through tenth were Garman, Jeff Bryner, Rusty Failor, Steve Earnest and invader Les Hare. Heats were won by Dillman and Bryner.
