Port Royal, Pa - For the first time in sixteen years and for only the 20th time in speedway history, the high-powered sprint cars of Port Royal will compete in a 35-lap feature on July 7. Billed as the Beef Night Summer Championship for sprints, the stars and cars of the Port will gather for a 35-lapper for the first time since June 19, 1985, when Doug Wolfgang bested Bobby Allen, Steve Siegel, Don Kreitz Jr. and Stevie Smith for the win.

Paying $3,000 to the winner of the extra-distance event, the Summer Championship will also award $200 to take the green flag in the non-point, luck of the draw contest for the sprint cars. The late models and pro stocks join the sprints for the Beef Night Summer Championship, which will supply the first 2,000 fans passing through the gates with free beef sandwiches along with Middleswarth and Hartleys Potato Chips and milk and ice cream sundaes for the kids.

A host of local businesses have joined forces to present this fantastic night at the historic Juniata County oval, including Benner's Beef Farm of Thompsontown, Stroehman-Maier's Bakery of Harrisburg, Middleswarth Chips of Middleburg and Hartleys Chips of Lewistown. Dairy products are proudly supplied for the night by the American Dairy Association - Dairy Council Middle Atlantic and the Juniata County Dairy Promotion Board.
