Port Royal, Pa, 6/28/01 - The summer month of July is packed with the famous three-H's of the season at Port Royal Speedway. Hot racing action, Huge promotions and Hundreds of giveaways await race fans of all ages during the month ahead.
After the annual Speed Week show on June 30, the month kicks off on July 7 when the track's 35-lap, Beef Night Summer Championship is spun off. Paying $3,000 to the winner of the extra-distance event, the Summer Championship will also award $200 to take the green in the non-point, luck of the draw contest for the sprint cars. The late models and pro stocks join the sprints for the Beef Night Summer Championship, which will supply the first 2,000 fans passing through the gates with free beef sandwiches along with Middleswarth and Hartleys Potato Chips and milk and ice cream sundaes for the kids.
The original and premier youth event in racing, Kids Night 5 makes kids king on July 14 when hundreds of giveaways are distributed to all youngsters in attendance. Prizes include bicycles, scooters, go-karts, computers and much, much more! A complete program of sprints, late models and pro stocks is slated for the night along with bicycle, big wheel and big-foot racing on the half-mile oval for all the kids. July 14 will also be York County Racing Club night.
Always popular, the KARS sprints will join the 410 sprints and the late models for the circuit's first appearance of the season in Juniata County on July 21. This night belongs to ARCH, Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown. The Stong's Auto Parts pro stock division takes center stage to close out the month on July 28. The stock cars join the sprints and late models on the card for a 20-lap championship event with the night^Òs competition sponsored by Golden Corral Restaurant of Shamokin Dam.
