Tracy Hines In Tamale Wagon At Oval Nationals!
(LAKE PERRIS, CA -- SEPTEMBER 17, 2001) New Castle, Indiana's Tracy Hines, one of the top open wheel drivers in the country, will be in the seat of Andy Morales famous Tamale Wagon Sprint Car when the 6th Annual Budweiser/Temecula Valley Pipe and Supply Oval Nationals take place at Perris Auto Speedway on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The Hines/Morales duo hopes to take home the winner's share of $25,000.00 and the gorgeous trophy that goes with it. The Oval Nationals are fast becoming one of the World's most prestigious Non Wing Sprint Car races.
Hines, 29, is having another banner season in all three USAC open wheel divisions. He is third in the Worldcom National Midget standings, fifth in the Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car title chase and sixth in the Silver Bullet Series hunt. His lifetime record shows 19 USAC Sprint Car Main event wins and 13 Midget victories.
Hines first major USAC crown came in 2000 when he won the Silver Bullet Championship. He was the 1998 USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Year. He won the same award driving Midgets at the Indianapolis Speedrome in 1992.
The Tamale Wagon has been around for generations and is one of the most famous Sprint Cars in the World. Among the stars that have been in the driver's seat of the famous car are Ron Shuman, Jan Opperman, Bubby Jones, Troy Cline, J.J. Yeley, Bobby Olivero, Billy Cantrell, Paul Jones, Rick Goudy, Mike Sweeney, Bob Hogle and Don Hamilton.
