Name Change to ASCS Patriot Region is Official
TULSA, Okla. (December 7, 2006) - After one year of being referred to as the "Bobcat of Buffalo ASCS Patriot Sprint Group", the series has simplified the name to move forward known as the ASCS Patriot Region.
As one of the twelve ASCS regions in addition to the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour for 2007, the Patriots will be changing their name to conform to ASCS plan moving forward.
"This is very exciting to finally make this official," noted ASCS Patriot Region Media Director Rich Vleck. "This will definitely allow this region to better align ourselves with the other ASCS regions, while still maintaining the recognition and notoriety we have worked hard to establish in our first four seasons."
Gone is the "Patriot Sprint Group" name, as well as the acronym "PSG", as the series will now be referred to either as the ASCS Patriot Region or the ASCS Patriots.
"We are more than just a sprint series sanctioned by ASCS," commented newly named ASCS Patriot Region Director Mike Emhof. "With this name change, it will be easier to recognize the fact that the Patriots and ASCS are one."
The final piece of this transition will be completed in the coming months with the unveiling of a new logo for the ASCS Patriots, combining the two logos used in 2006. This new logo will be used for t-shirts, stickers and other products that will be available during the 2007 season.
With the 2007 season in mind, the schedule is currently being put together with plenty of exciting races on the calendar. Look for the schedule to be finalized by the first of the year, with the official release available at www.ASCSracing.com.
