Path Valley Opens with Bug Day March 13, 14
Spring Run, PA_ The goal for next weekend's Bug Days at the Path Valley Speedway Park is to give all of the cars and sprints as much time as they need on the track to work out the 'bugs' before the points season starts, according to senior race director John Winsett.
Winsett worked through the previous weekend to get all the snow off the track and if the forecasted sunny weekday weather cooperates, he expects a large turnout of cars and racers for March 13 and March 14.
March 13 is Bug Day for the 270 Sprints, 600 Sprints and the V-8 powered PA 305 Sprints. Those cars normally race Friday night at Path Valley. March 14 is Bug Day for the V-8 Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Legends, Dwarf Cars and 4-Cylinder Thunder Cars. Practice time is noon to 5 p.m. both days.
Bug Day for the Strictly Stocks that were formerly known as Junkyard Cars along with the karts and quads that race Saturdays is scheduled March 20, also from noon to 5 p.m.
The first points race of the season for the V-8 Street Stocks, Legends Cars and the four weekly classes of 270 Sprints, 600 Sprints, Mini Stocks and 4-Cylinder Thunder Cars is Friday night, March 26, with gates open at 5 p.m. The PA 305 Sprints and Dwarf Cars will alternate with the Legends and V-8 Street Stocks and their first race is April 2.
The first Saturday afternoon race for the karts and four-wheelers is March 27 with gates open at 10 a.m. and that evening Path Valley welcomes back the four-cylinder, six-cylinder and V-8 Strictly Stocks along with the Cyclones with gates open at 5 p.m. for their first race.
The Saturday Strictly Stocks alternate with the AMA motorcycles and quads, and the season's first race for the bikes and four-wheelers is April 3, following the regular race for karts and quads.
