Sodus, NY - The 2000 Woodard's Concrete Products Central New York Mini Sprint (CNYMS) Tour will open May 12th at Accord (NY) Speedway. The race will kick off the 10th anniversary season for the touring group that features a schedule of 17 races in four different states. The tight quarter mile semi banked clay oval at Accord should spotlight highly competitive mini sprint racing, with many returning 1999 regulars wheel-to-wheel with the 2000 tour newcomers. Over the past couple of years, the CNYMS membership is growing, evidence of the resurgence of mini sprint racing in the Northeast. The 2000 tour is sponsored by Woodard's Concrete Products of Bullville, NY, and it is fitting that the season opener is in Woodard's downstate back yard. Fink Auto Transport of Germantown, NY, returns as an associate sponsorship this year. After the race at Accord, the teams will travel to Penn Can Speedway, Susquehanna, PA, for a May 19th appearance. The May schedule will finish up with the opening race of the Dow Corning/Kaman Industrial Technologies CVRA Mini Sprint Challenge Cup, to be held Memorial Day weekend, Sunday, May 28th at the Devil's Bowl in Fair Haven, VT. Accord Speedway is ½ mile east of town on US 209, then 2.5 miles NW on Whitfield. For news and notes about the CNYMS tour, visit the club website at www.speedwayad.com/cnyms.
