The newly formed National Sprint Tour will invade Bakersfield Speedway on March 18th, bringing the top sprint car drivers in the country to the very exciting 1/3 mile clay oval. Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Jason Meyers, Paul McMahon, Tim Kaeding and many more will tackle the fastest 1/3 mile in the west, providing edge of your seat entertainment. The major league show is hosted again by Elite Racing which fields the winged sprinter of Clovis driver Jason Meyers and California star Ronnie Day. "We are very pleased to host the National Sprint Tour at Bakersfield Speedway this year. The new elements of putting the drivers in front of the fans and giving them what they paid to see is what we are all about," stated Elite Racing owner Guy Stockbridge.
Many new and exciting opportunities for the fans are planned this year as Elite Racing aims to give the fans what they came to see and more. The pre-race pit party was a great success last year, and is back on the schedule this season. Pre sale ticket holders will be able to enter the pits from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Drivers will be available for autographs, photos, and apparel purchases. At 5:00pm, all fans will be asked to make their way directly to their seats in the grandstands so racing can get under way.
But that's not the last of the pits for the fans. EVERY TICKET IS A PIT PASS THIS YEAR. All grandstand ticket holders will be welcome to enjoy the brand new PIT AREA MIDWAY this year. Fans can stroll down into the pits all night to view their favorite team at work on their fire breathing machines. Yes, that's right; the pits will be open all night for the fans. Driver apparel trailers will be open all evening in the midway. "We wanted to give the fans something more. One of the most impressive things about sprint car racing is how quickly teams can rebuild these cars or change engines, and the fans never get to see it. Our new midway will give the fans a new look that they have never seen before," said Meyers.
In 2005, Craig Dollansky captured the victory at Bakersfield Speedway and over 10 drivers broke the previous track record. Steve Kinser is coming off his 20th World of Outlaw championship and will be looking to get a jump on the competition as he contends for the inaugural National Sprint Tour Championship. This one is not going to come easy though, as Jason Meyers looks to better his 2005 2nd place to Kinser in the new National Sprint Tour. California natives Tim Kaeding and Paul McMahon will also be after the King as well as Danny Lasoski in the Roth MotorSports #83. Other NST stars racing on March 18th will include Shane Stewart, Tim Shaffer, Jason Sides, Lucas Wolfe, Brian Paulus, Jason Solwold, and all the stars of the NST. Joey Saldana in the Kasey Kahne sprinter is also scheduled to race. A strong Western contingent will be lead by Ronnie Day, Jonathon Allard, Tommy Tarlton, Brent Kaeding, and many more who are tuning up for the Golden State series.
The night will conclude with a spectacular fire works display and more opportunities for the fans to meet the drivers and get autographs from their favorite teams.
