Dobesh Does It in ASCS Northern Plains Night Two at Jackson

JACKSON, Minn. (June 3, 2006) -- Bryan Dobesh pocketed $2,000 by notching his first career American Sprint Car Series feature win in Saturday night's 20-lap ASCS Northern Plains Region feature at Jackson Speedway, putting the wraps on the two-night Bob Bruckmeier "Sprint for a Cure" special.

Dobesh took advantage of Chuck Swenson's misfortune, then survived a late caution to score the landmark win.

Shooting for a weekend sweep after topping Friday night's feature, Swenson outgunned Jason Eckard to take the early lead. Dobesh quickly raced into second, as Eckard slipped high in the opening pair of corners and fell back several positions.

Swenson paced the opening eight rounds only to be relegated to the tail of the field when he jumped a lap eight restart, handing the lead to Dobesh. On the ensuing restart, Seth Brahmer was challenging Dobesh for the point only to climb a tire and tumble off turn two.

Three laps later, Dustin Lindquist exited after a broken axle resulted in a turn four flip. Back under way, it was Dobesh and Jake Peters slipping away from the field, with Dobesh fending off "The Snake" until a final caution set a up a green-white-checkered run.

Dobesh was up for the challenge and took the win in front of Peters, with Curt Lund, Gregg Bakker and 16th-starter Bill Boles rounding out the top five, as Scott Winters surrendered a top-five position when he cut a tire on the final round.

Swenson rebounded from the early penalty to snare sixth, with Eric Lutz, 15th-starter Jesse Drost, Eckard and Lee Grosz completing the top ten.

Winters, Eckard, Dobesh and Joe Riedel topped heat race action for the 40-car field, with Drost and Boles winning the 12-lap "B" Mains.
