New champion crowned

On Saturday, November 4th, the Central New York Mini Sprint, Inc. Club (CNYMS) will crown its tenth point champion - - P. J. Peworchik, a 19 year old, from Binghamton, New York.. He finished out the season with a 52 point lead over Bob Scaccio of Suffern, New York at the last race at Penn Can Speedway. Heading into the final race, P.J. and Mike Emhof of Sodus Bay were 1 & 2 with Scaccio and Paul James of Albany in 3rd and 4th. P.J. and Mike battled all season for the #1 spot. First, P.J. had the lead, then Mike would take over the #1 spot. Paul James then moved into 2nd in points, but Emhof regained 2nd at the next race at Thunder Mountain Speedway. After Fulton Speedway, Emhof was back with a 14 point lead. P.J. took over the lead again at the race at Accord Speedway and managed to maintain the lead through the end of the season for his first mini sprint championship. P.J. owes a lot to his Uncle Dave for his expertise and all the long and hard hours he put into this operation. The top fifteen finishers were: P. J. Peworchik, Bob Scaccio, Mike Emhof, Paul James, Duby Woodruff, Cory Sparks, A.J. Bagozzi, Bill Jaycox, Dennis Fink, Brian Burns, Bruce Brown, Peter Sindt, Steven Boyd, Jared Fink and Tom Richard.
