Rain out Rescheduled for July 28 in O'Reilly/NCRA 360 Sprint Car Series

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 26, 2005) -- With tonight's rain out at the Belleville High Banks, Garry Lee Maier probably hopes it'll cool off the hot shoes charging to the top of the NCRA sprint car standings.

Maier sits atop the chart but lost 85 points to runner-up C.J. Johnson in their last race. In fact, Maier lost a lot of points to everyone in the top ten as a broken valve early in the July 9 race at Dodge City Raceway Park relegated him to a 19th--place finish.

With the rain out, the chase for the championship in the O'Reilly/NCRA Sprint Car Series presented by Hoosier Racing Tires has just been delayed a couple of nights. Officials rescheduled the event for Thursday, July 28, as part of an already scheduled Ford Focus Midget show preceding the Belleville Midget Nationals.

This is the series only appearance on the High Banks this year. In their only show last year, two-time series champion Steve King picked up the first of his two wins on the season.

For ticket information, call (785) 527-5179. For information on race day, contact the Belleville High Banks at (785) 527-2488 or visit their Web site at www.highbanks.org.

After Thursday's race, the series move on to Jetmore, Kan., for a show on Saturday, July 30. NCRA opened the 2005 sprint car season at the Jetmore Motorplex with King picking up his only win this year in front of his hometown fans.
