Park Jefferson Added to ASCS Midwest Region Slate

TULSA, Okla. (May 12, 2005) -- There will be plenty of fireworks at Park Jefferson Speedway on Monday night, July 4, as the Independence Day event in Jefferson, SD, is the latest addition to the American Sprint Car Series Midwest Region schedule.

The July 4 event atop Park Jefferson Speedway's semi-banked, half-mile dirt oval will mark the third night of racing for the ASCS Midwest Region in 2005. In its inaugural season, the ASCS Midwest Region now includes thirteen nights of racing at seven different tracks throughout Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri and Iowa.

The ASCS Midwest Region recently kicked off in style, with Terry McCarl racing from 16th to top a 46-car field in the season opener at Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway on April 15.

The ASCS Midwest Region fires back into action on Friday night, May 27, at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE. The July 4 event at Park Jefferson Speedway is the series' third stop, with Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway on tap four nights later, July 8.

In addition I-80 Speedway, Park Jefferson Speedway and Junction Motor Speedway, other tracks on the 2005 ASCS Midwest Region schedule include Interstate Auto Centers I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD, US 36 Raceway in Cameron, MO, Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, MO, and Iowa's Knoxville Raceway for the Brodix Tournament of Champions.

In total, including the O'Reilly ASCS National Tour, the Southern Tour and the Sooner, Gulf South, Rocky Mountain and Midwest Regions, the American Sprint Car Series will sanction nearly 120 nights of racing in 2005 at more than 50 different racetracks throughout at least 15 different states.
