The 2003 racing season officially opens at Mid America Motor Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK this Saturday evening, April 12 at 7:00 PM. The track, under new management, invites you to celebrate it's grand opening. Top drivers from all over the Midwest will be there to compete.

Payouts are $1000 to win in the Late Models and Modified classes, $500 Outlaw Factory, $350 Factory Stock and $150 Pure Stock (4-cyl FWD race, provided 10 show). Mid America Motor Speedway is working on a point system with cash awards to be paid to high point earners at the end of the racing season.

The new track promoter, Jack Smith said, "Our goals are to make Mid America Motor Speedway the premier race track in the Midwest. We have several special events planned throughout the season that will be very entertaining and exciting. We will work closely with the drivers to make the races run as smooth as possible, yet making the program faster-paced, with less down time. I think the fans and the drivers will be pleasantly surprised with the 2003 racing season at Mid America Motor Speedway."

Grandstand tickets and pit passes go on sale at 4:30 PM Saturday. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids 6 to 12 (kids 5 & under are free) Pit passes are $20.
