Team Maxim Sweeps Month of Money Opening Events

Team MAXIM swept through the competition during the opening events of the Month of Money, with Jason Sides earnings of $50,000 at Eldora Speedway's King's Royal and Sammy Swindell's payoff window pick-up of $30,000 leading the way.

Sides drove the Wayne and Dylinda Rhodes MAXIM from 13th starting spot to take the lead on the last lap of the 40-circuit event, paying the pony-tailed speedster from Bartlett, Tennessee $50,000 in cash for his first career World of Outlaws A Main victory.

"This is my eleventh year racing, and I wouldn't be able to do it without my car owners Wayne & Dylinda Rhodes and the people at Maxim," said an elated Sides. "We ran the bottom during the first part of the race, and that probably helped us conserve our tires."

Following Sides at the finish line was a parade of Team MAXIM drivers who claimed 11 of the top fifteen finishing spots. MAXIM-equipped drivers Rob Chaney (2nd), Brian Paulus (4th), Tim Shaffer (6th), Mark Kinser (7th), Craig Dollansky (9th), Paul McMahan (11th), Jason Meyers (12th), Joey Saldana (13th), Danny Smith (14th), and Brandon Wimmer (15th) helped Sides pick up the bulk of the $122,000 purse.

Eldora's Knight before the King's Royal event saw a determined Dale Blaney defeat a stellar World of Outlaws field, earning $10,000 for his win aboard the Andrews MAXIM. Blaney's win in the 30 lap race was punctuated by Greg Wilson setting fast time in the Hampshire MAXIM with a clocking of 13.286 seconds before heat race winners Paul McMahan, Jason Meyers, and Sammy Swindell took the checkered flag first in their qualifying events riding in MAXIM Race Chassied cars. McMahan and Blaney both won the 5 lap dashes with their MAXIMS to earn front row starting spots.

"We found something there from the middle to the bottom of the track, and we were able to get by Danny Lasoski and then get back to the top," said winner Blaney. "This car was good all over the track."

Prior to the Eldora events, Attica Raceway Park honored Brad Doty with it's annual Brad Doty Classic. Winning driver Greg Wilson pocketed $16,000 for his victory aboard the Bob Hampshire MAXIM over 54 other 410 Sprint Car drivers.

The Month of Money moved to Lernerville Speedway, where Sammy Swindell took the $30,000 winner's share of the World of Outlaws-sanctioned Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup purse. Team MAXIM drivers accounted for the first seven finishing spots at the Sarver, Pennsylvania track, with Steve Kinser 2nd, Mark Kinser 3rd, Greg Hodnett 4th, Joey Saldana 5th, Paul McMahan 6th, and Tim Shaffer 7th.

Other recent outstanding performances by Team MAXIM include Jason Meyers, Joey Saldana, Mark Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Steve Kinser, and Kraig Kinser taking the top six positions in the 25 lap WoO event at Hartford, Michigan, while Joey Saldana drove to two consecutive World of Outlaws wins at Fargo, North Dakota's Red River Valley Speedway aboard the Larry Woodward MAXIM.
