Kevin Gobrecht took his second win of the season at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night. Gobrecht started third and led all twenty five laps for the $2,500 winner's share of the purse.
Lincoln Speedway points leader, Fred Rahmer, flipped his #77 sprinter in turn three on lap two, bringing out the red flag. Only one lap was scored. When the green replaced the red Kevin Gobrecht again pulled away from the field.
With the track turning hard and slick early in the race, Gobrecht ran the rim, opening up a huge lead over Dan Dietrich by lap four.
Cris Eash, who started eleventh, worked his way into seventh position by half distance when the leader's brother, Brian Gobrecht, brought out the yellow with a flat right rear tire. Kevin Gobrecht had been leading by more than the length of the straight and now Dietrich was right on his tail for the restart.
Dan Dietrich tried to stay with the leader when the green was shown but the Apple Chevrolet #12 pulled away once again.
Meanwhile Eash moved into fifth position and chased after Chris Knopp who had started on the pole. Knopp slipped over the cushion in turn two allowing Eash to take fourth on lap 16.
While Gobrecht ran away and hid from the field, Dan Dietrich held off Dan Jones for second in the best race on the track. Eash made it a three way battle for second place when he caught Jones on lap 19.
Jones and Dietrich swapped second place for the next two laps with Jones securing the second position on the twenty third lap. Eash finished fourth, just behind Dan Dietrich.
