LINCOLN LOSES SECOND SHOW OF THE SEASON TO RAIN; Gohn Memorial for sprinters, thundercar championship scheduled for this coming Saturday

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 7/24/99 - Mother nature just didn't want to co-operate. Sunny skies early in the day turned to clouds as hot laps took to the track for Saturday evening's July 24th racing program of Super Sprints, Thundercars and Silver Spring Limited Late Models at Lincoln Speedway.

The first of two heavy showers to hit the speedway delayed the program nearly two hours. Late models and thundercars were helping push trucks on the track when the second shower struck at 9:20 p.m.

The annual Daryl Gohn/Glenn Gohn, Sr. Memorial for super sprints and the 20-lap championship event for thundercars will be run this coming Saturday (July 31st). Those two divisions will be joined by the 358 sprint cars.

The makeup date for Silver Spring Late Models will be announced after Lincoln management consults with Silver Spring.

Rain checks will be honored for the next three weeks (7/31, 8/7, and 8/14).

Don't forget to check-out Lincoln Speedway On-line at http://www.lincolnspeedway.com for all the latest results, statistics and point standings. Next weekend, Saturday July 31st, all three regular divisions - the super sprints, 358 sprints and thundercars - will be back in action. Racing action gets underway at 7:30 PM, with gates opening at 5 PM.
