Abbottstown, PA (April 24, 1999) - Cris Eash did double duty this evening at Lincoln Speedway and came home first in both divisions. The 410 Super Sprint 25 lap feature was on tap first. Eash led the final 18 laps of the race, cruising under the checkered flag with a half straightaway lead over second place finisher Greg Hodnett.

"We were lucky. We got to start up front again," said Eash. "We had a good car tonight. I started getting a little loose at the end. I had my wing all the way back. We had one slip away from us last week, so we had to come back and show them that we were for real."

In the 358 Sprint feature, Cris Eash led the last eight laps of the twenty lap feature after a fierce three way battle for the lead with his brother Darren Eash and Greg Leiby. The trio ran nose to tail for most of the race. Leiby finished third behind Doug Esh while Darren Eash suffered mechanical problems late in the race which placed him 21st in the final order.

In the 410 feature Brook Weibley started on the pole with Glendon Forsythe along side on the front row. Weibley got the jump at the flagstand but Forsythe dove inside into the first turn and led through the first set of turns. Weibley drove back into the lead off turn two and was credited with leading the first seven laps of the race. Donnie Krietz and Cris Eash, who started on the third row, were third and fourth at the end of the first lap.

The first and only caution period of the race came with one lap complete when Jeff Shepard tangled with James Chesson in turn one. Jeff Miller and Josh Wells were also involved. No one was hurt but Miller and Chesson were done for the evening.

Kreitz dove into second place on the restart with Eash following close behind. With Kreitz running high in three and four and low through one and two, Eash made his move on the outside, taking second on lap seven. Eash quickly closed on Weibley who had encountered heavy traffic just as Eash closed the gap. Weibley slipped over the cushion in turn three allowing Eash to take an easy eight car length lead with little effort.

Kreitz and Hodnett made quick time of Weibley and settled into a fierce battle for second place. Krietz and Hodnett raced side by side and nose to tail for most of the race. Hodnett dove under Kreitz into turn one and soon found his path blocked by a slower car. Hodnett moved up on Kreitz causing him to really drop anchor.

"I had no corner entry speed," said Kreitz. "I couldn't get in hard enough. The car was really, really loose getting in. It drove off the corner really good but I had to go in real easy. He pulled a slider there and he didn't quite have us cleared. What are you going to do?"

Krietz drove with a lot of determination trying to get Hodnett back. He pulled along side Hodnett at the flagstand with three laps to go but was never able to make a pass.
