Port Royal, PA -- Kyle Ganoe is up and around as of Thursday night June 27, 2002. Ganoe is allowed out of bed and is off his ventilator. Race Director Tom Little was the first non family member or Medic to speak with Ganoe earlier tonight. Ganoe told Little, " I'm alive" and added, " I'm getting stronger.

Father Mark Ganoe stated, " they can't keep him in bed. He's received 325 cards so far. Kyle's getting a lot of publicity but he's shy. We might be out of here the beginning of the week."

Current plans are to release Ganoe and have his therapy handled by the Lewistown Hospital. He will return to Lehigh Valley Hospital for check ups.

After all Ganoe's been through, he still has the desire to race. Ganoe intends to visit the speedway on Kids Night July 13 if all goes well. He plans to assemble another car and return at some point to the local racing wars. He hopes to secure additional sponsorship to compete.

Speedway officials look forward to his visit July 13 and wish Ganoe continued success in his recovery.
