A RECORD 25 SANCTIONING AFFILIATES COMMIT TO KNOXVILLE'S BRODIX TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (March 9, 2006) - A record twenty-five (25) winged 360-cubic-inch sprint car sanctioning affiliates have committed to the $5,000-to-win Brodix Tournament of Champions (ToC) at the Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 6. Eight of the affiliates are American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) related, including its national American Sprint Cars On Tour (ASCOT). The one-day international invitational for the 'best of the best' in 360 sprint car racing utilizes one common set of technical rules, including use of the ASCS Brodix spec head. Eric Baldaccini of Keller, Texas, representing the ASCS Sooner Region, is the first official entrant for this year's event aboard Harry Baldaccini's Maxim sprint car number B4.
According to Knoxville's director of racing Ralph Capitani, "I can't tell you how excited I am about this year's Brodix Tournament of Champions. Fans will have a chance to see the best drivers from eastern Canada, western Canada, eastern Australia, Western Australia, the Pacific Northwest, the Northeast, the Southeast, the Southwest, and the Midwest all take on our storied half-mile dirt track. Last year's North American 360 Sprint Car Poll 'top ten' included Gary Wright, Kenny Adams, Curt Michael, Darren Stewart, Jake Peters, Travis Rilat, Lance Yonge, Terry Gray, Danny Martin, Jr., and Bryan Howland. There's no reason why we shouldn't see that same caliber of drivers at this year's Knoxville 360 Nationals and Brodix Tournament of Champions. And I'll guarantee you that we'll give the teams a better track surface than we did at last year's ToC!"
