TULSA, Okla. (June 16, 2004) - A 2004 Knoxville ASCS 360 Nationals champion will be crowned after all. When heavy rain hit the speedway after the completion of this past Saturday night's "D" Feature, it was originally announced that the event would not be rescheduled.
However, it was announced today that the remaining features of the 14th Annual Knoxville ASCS 360 Nationals have been rescheduled for Friday night, August 6. Those already qualified for the Knoxville 360 Nationals "C", "B" and "A" Features will be the only cars allowed to compete in the Friday night card.
While Jason Johnson and Billy Alley each posted 360 Nationals qualifying feature victories this past weekend, it is Ozawkie, KS, driver John Kearney who earned the pole position for the $10,000-to-win Knoxville 360 Nationals finale. Kearney will lead the field to the green flag in the August 6 "A" Main, with Johnson alongside. Alley and Terry McCarl will grid in row two, with Zach Chappell and Wayne Johnson in the third row of the 24-car main event.
The Friday night event will kick off nine consecutive nights of Sprint Car racing in southern Iowa that includes the Brodix Tournament of Champions on August 8, Southern Iowa Speedway's Front Row Challenge and Ultimate Challenge on the 9th and 10th, and the 44th Annual Knoxville Nationals from the 11th-14th.
