Kevin Swindell Records Top-10 Finish at Winter Nationals
Kevin Swindell, driving his Swindell Motorsports prepared #1, left a lasting impression Saturday night at the ASCS 31st Annual Winter Nationals at Devils Bowl Speedway. In only his third outing, Kevin was able to advance from his sixth row starting position in the 25- lap feature to finish a solid 8th. Earlier in the evening, he finished fourth in the heat race then ran second in his qualifiers race to gain enough points to start the Feature.
"I really liked racing here tonight. The track changed every time we went out so it gave me an opportunity to try different things with the car. The track got pretty slick during the feature, but I was looking forward to that all night. The car was fast on the bottom and I was able to drive off the corners low and gain some positions," stated Swindell.
"My dad and I worked great together all night and I want to thank him for all his help."
This coming weekend, Kevin will be in competition once again in the 17th Annual Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. There are already over 100 entries for this race including his father, Sammy Swindell. This will mark the first time the father and son combination will compete in the same event.
