USCS makes first ever visit to Huntsville Speedway Friday Huntsville, Ala. - The United Sprint Car Series "Outlaw Thunder" 2001 Tour rolls into historic Huntsville Speedway in Huntsville, Alabama, for it's first event ever on the fast high banked 1/4 mile asphalt oval. It will be the second of ten USCS "Asphalt Thunder" (asphalt series) events. All existing time trial track records are sure to fall as the the USCS has broken records by 2 or more seconds at every paved track it has visited in the past 18 events.
Expected entries include, defending National champion, Kenny Adams from, Malabar, Florida. Adams won the season opener April 21st, at Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, North Carolina. Chris Rogers, from Winston, Georgia, who finished third in last years points, but, ran a close second to Adams at Concord, after leading the first 20 laps of the event will be back this weekend for a re-match.
Other favorites include Adams teamate, Red Stauffer from, Winter Park, Florida. and 7 time National sprint car champion, Terry Gray of Bartlett, Tennessee who drove Pete Walton's # 10 mount at Concord, but will be in his own famous black #10 asphalt friendly car.
Other notable entries are, 1999 USCS dirt champion Marshall Skinner of West Memphis , Arkansas in his beautiful blue # 26 Skinner Motorsports Clincher. and the Georgia Gang lead by Randy Helton's #27 from Palmetto, Jim Raptis of Marietta, Ga. , Brian Thomas from Auburn, Ga. and Jim MacKenzie of Buford, Ga. 1999 asphalt top rookie, Ted Williams is back in action this year and ran 6th at Concord in a tough field and expects to do better at Huntsville.
