Hearn Teams with Lasoski and Stewart for Chili Bowl Assault
SUSSEX, N.J. (October 23, 2004) - Champion dirt track Modified driver Brett Hearn is joining 2002 NASCAR Nextel Cup titlist Tony Stewart, World of Outlaws sprint car star Danny Lasoski, and a fourth driver in an all-out assault on the 2005 Chili Bowl Nationals indoor midget race car meet January 5-8, 2005 at the Tulsa, Oklahoma Fairgrounds Expo Building.
The Chili Bowl is the largest and most prestigious indoor auto racing event in the country, and annually attracts more than 200 competitors from across the motorsports spectrum as well as sold-out crowds over its entire four-day run.
"I've raced in the Chili Bowl twice before and was also involved in their Ford Focus midget exhibition program, but this is the first time I've ever been part of such a potentially strong effort. I'm really honored that Tony and Danny asked me to be a member of their team," said Hearn, 46, from his Sussex, New Jersey race car shop.
While he has more than 650 career feature event wins in dirt track Modifieds, Hearn has raced a midget only occasionally. But in his two previous Chili Bowl appearances, he has qualified for the Saturday night "A" main each time.
The Super Star Team will drive identically prepared Eagle chassis, Mopar-engined midgets being prepared in Lasoski's Midwest shop.
"We'll be getting together in early December to make sure the car fits me correctly. Being comfortable in the car is critical, especially when even the slightest twitch or hesitation can mean the difference between qualifying and going home empty handed," said Hearn.
